Airbus’s slack A319neo sales have been given a small lift following conversion of an Air Cote d’Ivoire order to the variant.

Air Cote d’Ivoire ordered a pair of A320neos in April 2016.

But Airbus’s latest backlog revision shows that the African carrier switched the aircraft to the smaller A319neo variant last month.

Demand for the A319neo has been weak, but the Air Cote d’Ivoire conversion raises total orders for the aircraft to 55.

Airbus secured certification for the CFM International Leap-powered version of the A319neo towards the end of 2018.

Air Cote d’Ivoire also has an order for a single A320neo.
