As the third phase of voting in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections began on Tuesday, Google marked the day with a Doodle which has an image showing an index finger marked by a purple-black indelible ink.
When clicked, Google directs its users to the search results related to the latest Lok Sabha elections 2024. The third phase of polling is being held in 93 constituencies spread over 11 states and Union Territories, where more than 1,300 candidates, including 120 women, are in the fray.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also cast his vote in Ahmedabad, which falls under the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha seat in his home state of Gujarat. As PM Modi congratulated the Election Commission of India (ECI) for conducting the first two phases of the Lok Sabha polls without violence, he also urged people to cast their votes.
According to the Election Commission, there has been a 25.41 per cent voter turnout till 11 am for Phase 3 of Lok Sabha Elections.

On April 19, Google marked the beginning of the Lok Sabha polls by replacing its logo with the same Doodle.
The Lok Sabha elections 2024, which are being held in seven phases, will conclude on June 1 and results will be announced on June 4.
