DANVERS, Mass. (WLNE) — A Massachusetts State Police K-9 was credited with capturing a suspect in Danvers on Tuesday.

The Massachusetts State Police Department said K-9 Odin took down 37-year-old Joseph Kennedy after a multi-district chase.

The pursuit began around 3:30 p.m. as Middleton police attempted to stop a pickup truck operating erratically.

Trooper Nicholas Favaloro and K-9 Odin joined the chase around 4:30 p.m. and followed the truck onto Route 114.

Officers attempted to stop the truck at a storage facility, but the pickup rammed through a fence, launched airborne over a 10-foot drop and continued on.

The truck turned onto Cemetery Road in Danvers, where the driver ditched the vehicle and ran into the woods.

Favaloro deployed Odin, who caught and apprehended the man, identified as Kennedy.

Kennedy was charged with operating under the influence of drugs, failure to stop for police, and various other offenses.

Officials said the Peabody Police Department assisted in the chase.
