Kerry Katona has made a huge U-turn over her plans to relocate.

The TV personality fell in love with Marbella, Spain, after a family holiday last summer but her big plan to move to the sunny country has now changed. Speaking out in her OK magazine column, she admitted she no longer feels safe moving her family to the area.

She said: "It’s no secret that Ryan and I have been thinking of uprooting to Marbella for a while, but now we’re undecided. We have read that there’s been a couple of shootings in that area and we’re just not sure if it’s the best place for our family to move to.”

The popular tourist area in the Costa Del Sol has been hit with a recent wave of gang shootings with Spanish police launching Operation Marbella to crackdown on violence and keep tourists safe. Kerry revealed she and her fiancé have opted to stay in the UK and look for a house here instead.

She said: “Now, the plan is to stay in England and we’ve been viewing houses already – but we’d definitely like to downsize, as Heidi will be going to college soon, so it’ll just be Max, DJ, Ryan, and I. A new home is on the horizon – but we won’t need as many rooms!”

Kerry doesn't want to disrupt her children

Last October, Kerry told fans she couldn't wait to relocate after visiting the popular Spanish area and enjoying a fabulous family holiday. Sharing a video of herself in a floral maxi dress from her own boutique online, Kerry said: "I'm in such a happy... I can't wait to move out here. I cannot wait!"

She told fans it would be easier for her to commute from Spain then from her Cheshire to meetings in London. "You can hop on a plane and be in Marbella in less time. So, that’s our plan. It’s exciting," she said.

Kerry shares her two oldest daughters Molly, 22, and Lilly-Sue, 20, with her ex-husband Brian McFadden. She's mum to daughter Heidi, 16, and 15-year-old son Maxwell with ex-husband Mark Croft while her youngest child is nine-year-old daughter Dylan-Jorge – also known as DJ – who she had during her relationship with George Kay, who died from a drug overdose in 2019.

The TV personality admitted her children's happiness at their current schools is also a factor keeping her from making a big move. She said: "DJ is happy at school and doesn't want to move, which is important because I want her to have stability.

"Kids need that. And Max is starting college in September, which is exciting. I do have to travel to London for work, but I don't mind the journey if it means keeping things stable."
