WATCH: Eagles' Nick Foles goes from backup to Super Bowl MVP candidate

PHILADELPHIA -- Nick Foles was not the quarterback many expected to be representing the NFC in Super Bowl LII. He wasn't the quarterback the Eagles planned on starting. He wasn't a quarterback the Minnesota Vikings planned on losing to.

On Sunday night, however, it was Foles who was standing with the NFC trophy in his possession, the result of his stellar game in the Eagles' blowout win over the Minnesota Vikings.

Now, despite all of the skepticism, Foles is heading to Super Bowl LII to face off against the New England Patriots -- something that seemed crazy to believe just a few weeks ago.

"In sports, everything is a process. Everything you do in life is a process that you work at it, and you can't give up," Foles said of his struggles this season after taking over for Carson Wentz. "When you have a bad outing, everyone wants to be very critical and I get that it's part of the media's [responsibilities]. I totally understand. But as players, the special thing is that no one in the locker room doubted me. Everyone just kept believing."

While the players in the locker room might have believed, it is safe to say very few did outside of the NovaCare Complex.

After going 26-of-33 for 352 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions in the NFC Championship game, however, it might be time to stop looking at Foles as a liability -- and instead as a potential Super Bowl MVP candidate.

Check out the video above to hear why Foles is now a strength for the Eagles, and should no longer be viewed as a weakness.
