(Agencia CMA Latam) - The International Monetary Fund (IMF) raised Argentina's growth forecasts for 2017 and 2018 in the new report on the country's economy by Alejandro Werner, IMF's Western Hemisphere Department director.
For 2017, the Argentinean GDP growth estimate was raised to 2.5, from 2.4% in the previous report. For the next year, IMF also estimates a 2.5% growth, from 2.2% before.
According to the IMF, the Argentina's recovery from last year's recession would consolidate in 2017 as higher real wages increase consumption, and as investment grows, supported by public works. The country's exports would also benefit from increased external demand.
For 2018, the IMF expects growth to consolidate as private domestic demand continues to improve gradually in an adjusted macroeconomic scenario.
